Meijer Stores – Interior & Exterior Painting Project

The Challenge

Meijer required a complete renovation of both the interior and exterior areas of the store while keeping daily operations fully active. The challenge involved completing all work without disrupting customers, staff, deliveries, or the store’s nightly restocking schedules.

The exterior presented multiple difficulties: high walls, textured surfaces, and areas exposed to weather conditions. Overspray control was critical due to vehicle traffic, customer entrances, and continuous activity around the building. Coordinating boom lifts, barricades, and safety zones required detailed planning.

Inside the store, we worked during night hours to avoid interfering with customers. The interior included drywall, metal frames, block walls, soffits, restrooms, stockrooms, hallways, and multiple back-of-house areas. Some surfaces were heavily worn and required sanding, patching, caulking and touch-ups before painting.

The Solution

Our team executed a full-scale painting plan to modernize and refresh the store. For the exterior, we used commercial-grade coatings designed to withstand weather, UV exposure, and high-traffic environments. All edges, entrances, cart corrals, and loading docks were carefully masked to prevent overspray and protect vehicles and pedestrians.

Inside, crews worked overnight, completing detailed preparation: repairing damaged drywall, patching holes, sanding rough areas, cleaning metal frames, and restoring worn corners. We painted sales floor areas, storage rooms, restrooms, offices, ceilings, hallway corridors, and employee-only areas with commercial interior coatings designed for durability and cleanability.

Coordination with store management ensured that each section of the store was completed on schedule without interrupting stocking, cleaning, or morning operations.

The Outcome

After completion, Meijer gained a refreshed, clean, and modern appearance both inside and out. The new exterior tone improved the overall curb appeal, making the store more inviting and visually consistent with current branding standards.
